Took the day off on Friday for the tea session at Keppel.
They brought us to the various arms of the organisation, so we had the chance to board a yatch (like wow never thought I would have the chance to do so in my entire life haha), visit the waste incinerator, get a free mini Magnum :D, and go up close to the oil rigs. The industry is really male-dominated and apparently very tough especially for the offshore and marine. But chemical engineering would be most applicable for Infrastructure la, so was quite disappointing that they only brought us to the waste-to-energy plant and not the gas-to-energy one which I'm more interested in :p
Anyway, the 8-hour long session ended with a group discussion on a product that can help improve or benefit Keppel in the relevant industries. Honestly, i felt that groups of 10 were too big for efficient discussions, so it ended up with everyone snatching the chance to speak (especially since there were people assessing us from the side -.-). I usually don't like to speak when there are so many people talking at a time because it just gets too noisy and whatnot. So I was quite quiet I guess lol which puts me in a rather bad light. But I really do not see the point of so many people talking at a time. It's like everyone is trying to be the leader, but for there to be a leader, there must be a follower also right? Yep so it's not surprising if I don't get called for the interview. Anyway Keppel seems like a good company to work for that treats its staff well (other than the crazy working hours) and the people there really seem like a family :) And kudos to those who are working under such harsh conditions yet still remain passionate about their job!
Oh and yesterday's outing for dinner at Swee Choon was fun with great food, awesome people with bloated stomachs and the double/triple/self-whammies XD And thanks for the musical box I love it hehe. Wooooooodd <3
