Apart from uni camps, driving lessons, muay thai and occasional meetups with people, I have been spending most of my days at home mainly watching dramas. Not too long ago I remember I mentioned that after A levels I found watching dramas a waste of time and I'd rather do other things, haha but now I'm back to watching them. Just a recap on the few dramas (all Japanese lol) I have watched since I became unemployed close to two months back (in chronological order). I understand if you choose to over-look this post haha!
1. Joker Yurusarezaru Sosakan
The first drama that I watched would have obviously been a detective show haha. Rather than focusing on solving each murder case like most other similar dramas, I would say that the show focuses more on the issue of justice. Whenever a criminal fails to get prosecuted due to insufficient evidence even though it is clear in the show that the criminal is guilty, the protagonist who is a detective will punish them by sending them off to an island for lifelong imprisonment. I know, I was kinda turned off by the plot also lol it seems kinda lame, but it gets you thinking about the issue of justice. If the law fails, then is such action taken considered valid? Spoiler: Anyway it turns out that there's an organisation working behind the scenes, otherwise known as the secret police. I realise J-dramas seem to like plots regarding the secret police lol.
2. Soratobu Kouhoushitsu (Public Affairs Office in the Sky)

This is a show about planes. LOL. I know I am being judged now hahaha. Initially I was really hesitating on whether or not to start on this show because of the synopsis on drama wiki. It did not seem interesting at all, even though I enjoyed hk drama Triumph to the Skies which is about pilots and planes when I was young. But no, trust me, this show is nothing similar to that. Soratobu Kouhoushitsu focuses mainly on the young man's passion for fighter planes (sounds boring right!) and of course some romance and comedy. However, the show was surprisingly not bad. Maybe the starting may seem a little uninteresting, but as you keep watching, the show just grows on you. Oh but the technical terms seriously turned me off haha but my brain just ignored them somehow. The way the show was filmed actually made me better appreciate the planes like the ones used for NDP. The filmography and the theme song (Contrail by Namie Amuro) together just made the whole scene so spectacular. And thus, the blog url haha. Btw, the old man in the show is cute HAHA because he always does some weird actions.
3. Last Cinderella
This show was funny and goooooood. From the picture you can tell it is of romance genre. I have nothing else much to say for this drama except that I would rather the main character (acted by Shinohara Ryoko) end up with the other guy (acted by Fujiki Naohito) :( Partly because of the freaking huge age difference of 17 years between her and the younger guy (Miura Haruma) in real life?!??! It was a little disturbing when I found out their real age but she doesn't look like her age so I guess that helped. Anyway, Fujiki Naohito is good looking despite his age haha he actually looks better with a stubble.
4. Keizoku 2: SPEC

!!!!!! I love this show hohohoho. It's another detective show, plus some supernatural elements. It's a world where humans evolve and people have special abilities called SPEC. It's a little bit like X-men. For example the ability to stop time, predict the future, read people's minds, create illnesses...... Toda Erika plays the role of the protagonist Toma Saya alongside Kase Ryo as Sebumi Takeru, both being detectives. They deal with unusual murder cases that turn out to be done by people with spec ability, or who are known as spec-holders. The show is cool in the sense that it is hard to determine how the murder is committed since it involves supernatural abilities, not to mention how to convict the criminal. But Toma being the genius with IQ over 200, she somehow manages to figure them out lol. The best would definitely be the stand-off against Ninomae (played by Kamiki Ryunosuke). Kamiki really did a good job playing the role of Ninomae applause applause! Toda Erika also did well playing the role of the genius-yet-goofy-gyoza-lover Toma-kun. Hahaha her antics are hilarious man. I have a feeling that some of those antics were ad-libs by Toda haha. Anyway the drama is followed by one special episode and two movies (one of which has two parts, so that's about 3 movies). However, I honestly didn't like the movies mainly because it made things super confusing and the CG was terrible -.- It just made the show seem lame. But yea overall I still love the show because it's the kind of genre I like ^^
5. Umi no Ue no Shinryojo (A Clinic on the Sea)
Another show that looks boring. And it kinda is. Haha the main reason why I wanted to start on this show was because of Matsuda Shota and Toda Erika (the two main characters from Liar Game). Though unfortunately Toda isn't part of the main cast of this show. Nonetheless Matsuda Shota was funny in this show haha it's so different from his role as Akiyama Shinichi. And he looks much better in this show lol in LG he looked a little weird from certain angles :p It's probably because of his hairstyle. Anyway the show is about this clinic on a boat that goes around to different islands throughout the year. Matsuda Shota plays the role of Dr Kota who falls in love with a woman whenever they visit a new island LOL. It's mainly a comedy plus some medical elements.
6. Switch Girl!!
Switch Girl was plain HILARIOUS. To put it shortly, the main character has two sides to her. In school and out of home, she's in her 'on-mode'. So basically she's the Miss Popular and eludes charisma and what not as you can see on the left side of the poster. But back at home, she switches to her 'off-mode' and becomes some weirdass geek who snatches for the items on offer in the supermarket like some auntie hahaha. Kudos to Nishiuchi Mariya for being so daring to take on this role LOL there must have been many embarrassing scenes. And the male lead played by Kiriyama Renn has a pretty face ;) Hahaha I think he looks like Kim Hyun Joong from certain angles. Anyway I recommend this show if you're looking for a light-hearted show! Plus you wouldn't take much time to complete the show even though it has two seasons because for each season, there are only 8 episodes and each episode is only 30 minutes long!
Whoa finally finished this post. Feels like some kind of review haha but nah it is mainly for my own tracking purposes. It's been a good life :D
