Pre-Cheway thoughts

Flying off to Philippines in 9 hours' time for Cheway!

After months of preparation, the real deal is finally here haha. Excited, nervous, scared, and many other emotions all mixed together. Doesn't help that recently there have been quite a number of news with regards to Philippines... but I know that I can depend on the people that I will be going over with! Shall not think and worry too much, let's just hold on to the faith yea.

Good job to the team for the past few months (close to a year now), let's do our best for the trip too! Let's gooooo, see you all in two weeks' time, will be back on the 22nd night! ^^

The past week had been rather hectic. First was travelling down to AMK in the morning on Monday and Tuesday for local CIP (it's a requirement for our ocip) It had been a while since I travelled so far in the early morning hehe. Shall skip ahead about the detail on the CIP. In short, kids are just so damn full of energy lol. And of course cuteness too. Credits to programmes for the well thought planning and execution *claps*.

Wednesday was the only real free day of the week, but I ended up travelling down to Seng Kang for Gordon's birthday celebration (the other half of the Cheway people were there for local CIP) and since I had about four hours to kill before my dad's (super early) birthday dinner, I went shopping by myself haha. And I ended up spending about $100 wth. I bought one running shorts, two shorts and a guitar strap. I should just burn off my atm card -.-

Thursday and Friday was dry run for chess camp. Tbh it was quite slack hahaha for the ogls at least. It was much more tiring for the camp comm of course. I kinda like my og! We are not the most enthu or crazy ogls out there, but we can click somehow haha probably because most of us knew each other beforehand. I didn't get to experience the fright night in the end, even though it's a pity, but it's not like I'm actually complaining y'know....hahaha.

Today I spent the entire day travelling around in the car with my parents (my sis is at Europe now, jealous much...). First was breakfast, then collecting some stuff for my mum's work, then collecting the free Delsey luggage from signing up for a card that my mum had been chasing them for MONTHS, then we spent the entire afternoon viewing houses haha. Damn shag man plus you don't get to sit down when you're viewing houses LOL. We have yet to find a suitable house, but tbh we have quite a lot of criteria I'd say lol. But it's a huge investment so of course my parents have to be picky. Also considering how it would be a house where they will be spending their retiree life in, so yeah the search continues~

Heeeeeh I ordered a Condor guitar from Carousell in the end, the seller is gonna come deliver it tomorrow evening!! :D It's just a rather basic guitar la cuz electric guitars are quite expensive and I don't want to invest so heavily right from the start.

Yup so just the guitar alone costs $150. I also need an amplifier but I didn't want to buy those big ones cuz they are expensive and loud lol. So i decided on a VOX amPhone AC-30 which costs $99. I just ordered it online last night at like 2am haha so hopefully I'll be able to receive by tmr LOL or by Monday. Yea so in total I have spent $249 T.T

I'm gonna help my mum work for a day to make up for this expenditure haha but i can only earn about $80 :(

Oh ya and my sis gave me one of the cheap guitar picks she bought from Australia when I told her that I'm gonna learn it haha yay.

I think I'm crazy... I'm actually seriously thinking of learning the electric guitar.

I'm serious. I just spent almost the entire morning researching on the types of guitar and amp and whatnot. I may end up investing up to $300 on this omg. This excludes any lesson fees if I were to sign up for one. There goes my money..... T-T

But the reason that is making me go for it is that I don't want to regret not attempting to learn it. I mean, if I don't do it now, it would even be less likely for me to do it in the future right? So why not now?

If everything works out, this would be my "CCA" for next semester onwards haha.

For now I'm not going to make an impulsive decision so I'm maybe I'll pop by the music shop later and get some advice haha.
