To the very special singer in my life

I can't believe I attended Younha's concert just this evening! It's like a dream come true, really.

Since I started getting mesmerised by her vocals and musical talents way back in 2008, I have always wanted to attend her concert or at least get to watch her perform live. But I knew it would be difficult for that to happen because she's not famous enough to perform in Singapore and even if she has a performance in Korea, I would have to fly over and getting the ticket is another issue. This is why I am really really so grateful to Gauri's friend, Jin Ju for doing me such a big favour and getting the tickets for me, even though we had not even met before! Of course thanks to Gauri too for being the middleman :P <3 I'm also really fortunate that she happens to hold a concert in the same month as when I'm at Korea for summer school! This must be fate ;)

Mmm, there's one thing I'm sad about though, which is that it seems as though Younha's vocals have changed quite a bit? Probably because of some vocal chord issue she had earlier this year... Now it sounds thinner, more nasal and less clear than before :( It's very obvious especially when she's singing slow songs. I really miss her old vocals but this doesn't mean I will stop supporting her. I think she's the only singer who I will continue loving for my entire life hahaha. Her songs have played a large part in my life and probably have had quite an influence on my current music taste. That being said, I think she still sounds great when singing fast/high songs! Oh and I think she's also quite disappointed with her singing because she did mention during the concert (if I didn't misunderstand it) that she felt she's not performing well :( But naturally the fans all gave her encouragement!

Oh and just a highlight of the concert... A few years back she performed on a live broadcast and during the climax of the song, her belt came off LOL and it was just awkwardly dangling on her dress while she continued singing. During an interview, she mentioned that the belt came off as it was too tight and that it was her manager who told her to wear it tightly because it'd make her look better. So during the concert today, they reenacted the conversation between her and her manager, followed by a reenactment of the performance. Hahahaha yup so the belt fell off during her performance (on purpose) :P Below is the video of her belt coming off during the live broadcast 3 years ago (happens at around 2:50)

A few days ago xiaomin's friend whatsapped me to help out for a cover of this song. But I have yet to start coming up with my parts when we are supposed to do the recording next Tues LOL. So I'm listening to it now before Chem E starts so that I can start thinking about it first! It seems like the more problematic part will be at the start where there isn't much instrumentals? Will have to think of something for that!

Btw the song is quite nice! Quite similar to my own music preference! :)
